This is so true..I like when you said “

The truth is, “fine” is what you say when you do not want to admit you are carrying something unresolved.

Excellent piece! This is part of doing the "inner child" work. We all use the knowledge we learn as children growing up and then some people realize that way may no longer serve us. Becoming aware and taking responsibility to move forward with your values, your way. Making the choice to get unhooked from the past.

Thanks Ken! “Making the choice to get unhooked from the past.” This is very real. I have so many instances of where I just woke up one day and questioned myself. Why do I think that? Why do I believe this? And realized I don’t.

so much truth here - until you become the parent of your inner child and let your parents just be flawed people who can you appreciate for their contributions life will always be just fine. Having spent the last 2 weeks with my dad as he undergoes chemo at 89 and still has all his marbles, lives alone and still drives I spent the majority of the time trying to come up with solutions that would allow him to continue where he is for the longest time - he agreed to a life alert pendant and was wearing it when I left.
